I've just watched an excellent free webinar by Carol Baxter titled "Turning dry facts into exciting narrative". Lasting 90 minutes, I easily found it the most interesting and useful webinar on the topic I have seen to date (and I don't mind admitting that I have looked at quite a few to try and improve my own historical writing style).
Formerly a professional genealogist, Carol is a Fellow of the Society of Australian Genealogists and works as a full-time writer and speaker. She is an accomplished and successful non-fiction history writer who has published multiple books commercially. One of her books was contracted to be turned into a feature length movie, however, this has changed into plans for it to become a 6-part tv series. So she knows her craft.
If, like me, you struggle to make your family history writing sound interesting instead of reading like a boring business report, then I highly recommend you watch Carol's webinar at Legacy Family Tree (LFT).
You will need to oil your skates though because, unless you have an LFT webinar subscription, it is only online and free until 16 July 2020.
Hopefully we will see more webinars on writing our family histories from Carol Baxter via LFT's free webinar series in future.
Let me know if you enjoyed the webinar and found it useful by leaving a note in the Comments Section at the bottom of this screen.
