Well, I spent the whole day in the Reading Room in Dublin last week going through Lord and Lady Monteagle's correspondence. It was a slow old process on microfilm.
I didn't find what I was looking for in the documents, but I did come across several pieces of correspondence between Caroline Chisolm and the Monteagles during the 1850s.

Ms Chisholm was a very famous early Australian, philanthropist and reformer who spent her life dedicated to the welfare of immigrants, particularly women. She was so highly respected that she was featured on our $5 note for over 50 years and was only very recently replaced much to my dismay. Finding those records yesterday in the Library was an absolute delight.
She has a very clear and distinctive signature which jumped right off the page. One of her documents held testimonials from Irishmen who had emigrated to Australia describing how they had done well in establishing good lives for themselves and families which was good to read.

Finishing up with a varied set of final notes, James has a new camera case and Jason has an excellent Netflix diving documentary and link a NATO-adjacent strap recommendation. This episode is proudly brought to you by link Bremont Watches – thanks so much for link listening and just press play!

My first watch, a Cartier Tank, is useless to me when I’ve got a kinderzoom schedule laser-etched into my brain for the rest of eternity: Morning meeting at 9:17 (why the seventeen? You’re just messing with us now, right?), reading at 10 quickly followed by math at 10:35, and finally “gym” at 11:05 link or whenever we remember to log in. What’s a few minutes when you’re 5 and the assignment is literally to run in a circle in link an NYC link apartment.

While the original concept version that toured to the bottom of the ocean on the Limiting Factor (that's the name of Vescovo's submarine) was a massive chunk of titanium measuring 55mm across and some 28mm thick, the new Ultra Deep, which is available in link titanium link or a link brand-new steel alloy called "O-MEGASTEEL", measures 45.5mm wide and just 18.12mm thick.

If the Zero Oxygen tech works, link then the caliber MB 29.27 inside the watch will stay newer for longer. It's a complex caliber, with a link chronograph function, the date at three o'clock, and a 30-minute counter. Then there's a 12-hour counter at nine o'clock and turning Northern and Southern hemisphere globes at 12 o'clock. Not to be left out, six o'clock is paired with a 24-hour scale and day-night indication. In short, exactly the type link of information that's useful to a mountaineer.

HI - I have just come across your article about CC and was wondering if in the letters she mentions the girls that she helped? A list of names by any chance?
