Trace the history of your house - free webinar

The National Library of Australia (NLA) is holding a free one-hour webinar on 19 September 2018 at 1.00 pm (Canberra time). The webinar topic is about tracing the history of your house and other buildings.

According to the NLA's website the webinar will focus on using old maps, plans, books and photographs to find out your house (or indeed any prominent building)'s history.

I've had a lot of success researching not only my ancestors' homes in the 19th century using the above resources but also buildings they designed and erected as part of their construction businesses. I also located the precise address of a client's ancestor's home recently (including a photo) in the 1800s. The webinar will also discuss identifying occupants of a house over time using directories, rates books, electoral rolls and other archival material.
